Not everyone is ready to hear the full truth about the destruction alcoholism causes in entire family systems. Many will come to aid the alcoholic because they are the obvious sick one. That’s a mistake. Not acknowledging that alcoholism is abuse is a mistake. Assuming the alcoholic has to be triggered to have an outburst is a mistake.
