I make characters. Honestly, it’s not what I had set out to do originally.. they kinda snuck up on me. During my early career I was making portrait paintings in a fairly traditional sense. But once I turned my attention to clay many years ago, something about my beginner’s imprecision and the plasticity of the material started to combine and make exaggerated lines.
