🐑 Update from our sheep enterprise: Breeding commenced on October 1st. Prior to this Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture and DKIT 1st year students carried out body condition scoring (BCS) on the ewes and grouped them for mating management. The average BCS of ewes going to the ram was 3.38. Yellow raddle was used for first cycle followed by orange. A total of 92% of ewes were mated during the first cycle with all ewes mated within 21 days. Rams used were Belclare, Suffolk, Charolais and Texel.🐏
